Description
How to embody the contemporary spirit of watches in an era when connected technologies have disconnected watchmaking from its original necessity: telling time ?
Louis Erard has invited atelier oï to address this question. The answer is a new, original dial – the third chapter in a series of collaborations already co-signed by Alain Silberstein and Vianney Halter . Once again based on the Maison’s iconic model: the regulator . And once again with the ambition of connecting key players in traditional watchmaking culture.
Once again, it is a combination of important bearers of Swiss know-how: atelier oï and Louis Erard are regional brands with an international reach.
The collaboration pushes boundaries, as atelier oï goes beyond the strictly watchmaking framework – it operates in the fields of architecture and design. However, this invitation was not accidental. The atelier, based in La Neuveville , a satellite town of Neuchâtel, has had a close relationship with the watchmaking industry since its inception thirty years ago, and the world of watchmaking has played a significant role in its development.

atelier oï chose an elemental approach:
"Radiate from the center outward."
The technical language has been deliberately reduced to a minimum – in shape reminiscent of a sundial . The result is a surface engraved with asymmetrical rays , whose light reveals reflections and contrasts – a reference to atelier oï’s passion for materials and the play of light. The art of engraving is expressed here in its purest form: drawn lines .
These lines create space to which the hands add the dimension of time .
Le Régulateur naturally asserts its own rhythm: the hands (hour, minute, second) become the centers from which rays emanate, generating visual kinetics. Each movement of the wrist brings them to life, adding depth to the two-dimensional dial with a radiant architecture .
A pure work of art that doesn't interfere with anything – not even the Louis Erard logo .
