Functionality meets design: The art of date display redefined
Alexander Shorokhoff presents for the first time a chronograph with a big date function, a unique innovation in date display. The new “Big Date Chrono” model displays the date via two separate, larger digits located directly at the 12 o’clock position.
Unlike traditional date displays that contain a single digit, the “Big Date Chrono” allows for precise date display ranging from 01 to 31. This larger display not only improves functionality, but also adds a unique aesthetic and sporty touch to the watch.
The mechanics of the “Big Date Chrono” model require a sophisticated movement that synchronizes and precisely advances the two digits. The Alexander Shorokhoff watch manufacture uses the reliable Swiss Dubois-Dépraz DD4500 automatic chronograph movement. This movement offers exceptional precision, along with a stopwatch function and a luminescent mother-of-pearl hour display at 6 o’clock. It also has a 42-hour power reserve, complemented by a hand-engraved rotor.
The overall design of the new automatic model is avant-garde and sporty. In the first version, the orange central parts of the dial are beautifully complemented by an orange calfskin strap. The second color variant features bold yellow and green accents. The two subdials at 3 and 9 o’clock are dynamically designed with bold, square numerals, while the hands have a unique shape that emphasizes the watch’s modern aesthetic.
