Description
The success of the first Babylonian model, which was nominated for the German Design Award in 2015, motivated Alexander Shorokhov to create a second version.
The inspiration came from contact with the history of one of the largest and most powerful cities of antiquity – Babylon. It is no coincidence that the name of this city translates as “gate of the god”.
The city's prosperity in its golden age attracted astronomers, scientists, craftsmen, and artists, making Babylon a highly developed cultural center. In addition, star constellations were discovered there, the signs of the zodiac were invented, and the first horoscopes were created.
It is on this cultural fascination with Babylon that the new model is based. In a highly complicated process, the movement plates and the outer dial ring are finely hand-carved and decoratively designed. The combination of the dark blue mother-of-pearl hour ring with the printed signs of the zodiac, blued hands and hour markers creates a fascinating image. On the back of the watch, you can enjoy the masterful engraving.
