Description
The fascination with the zodiac, observed and interpreted by the ancient Egyptians and Babylonians, is captured on the watch dial. Alexander Shorokhov presents a new watch model “Babylonian” as part of his AVANTGARDE collection. The entire cosmos with celestial bodies and zodiac signs shines under a gently domed sapphire crystal, which is framed by a solid stainless steel case.
The central element of this watch is the hand-engraved movement, which features a special sunray polishing on the front. The fluted decorative element on the horizontal axis in the shape of waves represents the water of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers.
A small sun and moon stand out against the movement, which is surrounded by a luminous purple-blue mother-of-pearl ring. The twelve signs of the zodiac are adorned with a ring that rises 1.5 mm above the dark blue outer ring. Silver-white figures stand out on this midnight blue band with gold stars. The watch hands are colored dark blue.
Here, the typical large numeral “60” replaces “12”, as with other watches from the AVANTGARDE collection, expressing a different perception of time – “60” symbolizes both the end and the beginning – regardless of any measurement.
